What to do to avoid getting sick on a plane? |
Travel Info i'm going on a plane ride in a few hours, and i'm afraid i'm gonna get sick, especially since i'm a little under the weather right now. any suggestions on how to avoid the dreaded airplane viruses? Travel Tips chewing gum helps, and also, you may think this silly, but "blow your head up" pinch your nose shut and blow hard on the way up, and on the way down, yes it feels funny and makes your eyes water, but it forces your body to adjust to the pressure changes faster, and reduces sickness, and if you are into it, eat a pot brownie before you go, according to my hippie neighbor who is sitting here (i told him to shut up too, but he swears it works) Source(s): Frequent Flier Other Travel Tips Drink lots of liquids...NOT alcohol!! Juice and water will help. If you've got a cold, take some medicine with an anti-histimine (spelling?). This will both help you sleep and make you feel better! Good luck! dramamine Dried ginger is excellent for motion and travel sickness. You should drink some flat ginger ale since it will settle your stomach and take Airborne (an alka-seltzer like tablet made for teachers to keep them safe from all those reckless germs kids have). It also helps if you close the window shade (regardless of what seat you have) as watching fast moving clouds can make you feel worse. well i don't know if others have tried it yet.. aside from drinking lots of fluids.. water perhaps.. when the airplane rises, i keep my eyes open and look up the windows so i get a great view of the city i'm leaving.. it kinda hurts your back ones in a while but that distraction might just remove your airplane sickness.. hope that helps |
