If I am currently living in the u.s on a student visa and I am traveling to hawaii do i need a passport,?

Honestly, I don't think there will be any problem at all, so just confirm with the airline twice, then just don't bother to worry. Hawaii, is very laid back and you will have a wonderful time.

you don't need a passport. just your I.D., drivers license.
You don't need your passport because you won't be passing through any customs areas. But you do need good ID to get on a plane, and if that ID is your passport, then take it with you. You must have one to be here in the first place, so what would be the problem with taking it along as your ID?
no. hawaii is part of the U.S.
You will not need a passport to come to Hawaii (since we are a US state). However, you will need to prove your identity to board a plan or rent a car so you will need to bring along a form of picture id.
