I am going to hawaii at the end of may, any good luau suggestions? |
Travel Info I was thinking about the Polynesian Cultural Center but my roomate wants to go to the Paradise Cove Luau. Please advise! Travel Tips I have been to both Luaus and I think the Paradise Cove one is better. It is a friendlier atmosphere and the drinks just don't stop. Here is some underlying information that you might not know. Although the PCC is an all day excursion and a good learning experience, do not be fooled into believing that ANY of the money goes to helping or preserving the Hawaiian culture. It is run by BYU (the Mormon church). All money and proceeds go to the Mormon church and the spread of Mormon teachings. Just a little insider info, I figured you can make a better decision with all the pieces. Others go to www.newcenturyworldtravel.com and they are cheaper then i have seen I heard the Polynesian cultural center is the best. I didn't go Cause I was on a Cruise, but if I had the opportunity it would have been my choice I went to the Polynesian Cultural Center a couple of years ago. It isn't really a luau. Yes they have a wonderful Luau, but it is more like Epcot of the pacific. It is an whole day excurision. If you are traveling with kids they should love it. Imagine walking into a Moari long house and greeted by a troupe of warriors preforming a haku. There is no alcohol or caffine (it is run by BYU of the Pacific school). I really enjoyed it. I'm not at all familar with the Paradise Cove Luau Good luck and have fun. I would go to the Polynesian Cultrual Center. There's more to see and things to do. It's an all day thing. Where as the Paradise Cove, there's activities too, but limited. You get to watch the sunset. I think you would have more fun at the PCC and the drive to there is beautiful. At PCC you'll get to experience the Polynesian cultruals. You'll have so much fun! But if your roommate doesn't want to go with you, then you should go without'um then you both can compare your luau experience. http://www.polynesia.com/ http://www.paradisecovehawaii.com/luaupa... I would go to the Polynesian Cultural Center and tour the center and skip the "luau". It isn't really a luau. Then a different night, go to Paradise Cove, or Germaine's Luau. |
