What are some intermediate surf spots in Oahu?

Travel Tips
You're visiting in the summer months? If so, the South Shore is where the action will be...the North Shore is flat over 90% of the time between May-August. This is good, especially if you're looking for intermediate level surf spots.

I would say that almost any surf spot between Kewalo Basin and Diamond Head ("Cliffs") can be fun with a good South
Swell:
-Kewalo's, outside of Kewalo boat harbor
-any of the breaks outside of Ala Moana beach park...but stay
away from "Bowls", at the mouth of the Ala Wai Canal--best
wave on the South Shore, but overcrowded and very
localized.
-Any of the breaks between Waikiki and Black Point (off
Diamond Head)...

Problem is, all of the above spots are very well known, and can get unbelievably crowded during good swells. If you're feeling adventurous (and don't mind a long paddle), check out some of the spots off of Wailupe peninsula. Be careful, as there are NO lifeguards within 5 miles...
