Is the Road to Hana worth the trip? |
Travel Info Is the Road to Hana worth the trip? Travel Tips I think it's worth the trip if you enjoy sightseeing and if you don't mind driving hours on windy and narrow roads. If you do go, get the "Road to Hana" CD and plan it as an all day drive. I went once as a passenger and I got car sick! I don't think I want to go again unless I'm doing a helicopter tour. Everyone has their own preference. I think you should go to experience it yourself or do it another time if you plan another Maui trip. Hana will always be there....if you don't want to do the windy and narrow roads, there's Hana town where you can see and walk around....ALOHA! Source(s): Been there...Done that...won't go again. http://www.hanamaui.com/maps.html... Other Travel Tips Only if you're driving. Passengers will spend the trip puking. The road to Hana was one of the best road trips I have ever taken. Yes, the road is scary as hell, and the locals drive like maniacs. But if you are careful, and have a rental, or take the bus, all the stops you take are absolutely gorgeous. From the natural waterfalls, to the beautiful parks, and ocean views, and the black beach, I seriously was completely blown away and I loved every minute of it. I say go for it!! Yes, if you stay at the Hotel Hana-Maui at Hana Ranch (or another cheaper place if there is one) for a day or two. It will give you the time to do some exploring - hiking to waterfalls ....... stumbling across some houses belonging to celebrities. It's a beautiful place. I still remember the dark sand beach and the hibiscus floating in the fountain in the hotel's courtyard. http://www.hotelhanamaui.com/ Just returned and I agree with answer 1 it's good for the driver. There are many beautiful scenic overlooks but when you get there (hana) there is nothing! The journey is the attraction. Personally it was fun to do once but I wouldn't do it again. There are too many other great things to do in Maui |
