Is Oahu Hawaii a paradise to live in? |
Travel Info Is Oahu Hawaii a paradise to live in? Travel Tips It depends what you expect in paradise. O'ahu is overpopulated and to me the development removes certain aspects of it's natural beauty. Of course there are natural wonders like the Ko'olau mountains, Kalama and Lanikai beaches, but the best part about O'ahu is the local people. However, in Honolulu, there are slums and homeless; and in Waikiki there are many visitors. If you want to live in the city, it's hard to find a good place to live because many places are small and expensive or not "appealing" to some people. Plus traffic is crazy. Last September they had an island-wide traffic jam because a bridge or road collapsed. I prefer the Windward side because it's cooler, prettier, and full of sweet local people. Also, Kamehameha Highway is a beautiful drive up the coast. Personally, I'd rather be on the Big Island, but everything is financially easier here on the mainland. Source(s): Personal Experience Other Travel Tips Its fun, but be carfull, you can get Island fever Anywhere in the Hawaiin islands is truly paradise Absolutely... if you have buckets and buckets of money to afford it. yes, its so beautiful, i would live there if i could afford it, and if i thought it didn't bother the locals, its very over populated there. tourism is one thing but moving is another,if the locals totally didn't mind i would. Honolulu is quite nice. Pollution free, cal, but big enough to be a city. It is expensive, but, with a little creativity, one can do well there. |
