Hawaii vacation!!!?

My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Hawaii this summer. Has anybody who has been there have any suggestions on where to stay, eat, see? Also any money saving tips would be SOOO HELPFUL. : )

Depending on the Island of choice or the Islands of choice.
At any of the Airports pick up Island Gold for each island. This is a booklet all about events and some useful coupons. Don't do what I did on our Honeymoon all islands in 9 days. It was to much of a rush. All the islands have much to offer. If you two and serious companions I would say pick two islands put a plan together and go with it. If you are only going for a week pick one island.
If you like the sun and beach Maui is #1 and the Big Island of Hawaii would be my 2nd choice.
While on Maui you have to do the Old Town Laua, you need to make reservations early like a month in advance it books up fast. Rent a car at the Kahului Airport and take the trip to Hana, the Road to Hana is a lot of fun. If you can spend the night in Hana at one of the B&B inns. It's a great break to the travel around the island. The drive around this part of the island is a lot of fun, don't worry about your rental car it will make the trip just fine. You will end up in up country and can see a lot of the lsland.
Plan your stay in Kiehi Town. I think this area has a lot of good beaches. I like the Kamaole Sands, they are condos so you have a place to cook and save some money on food.
You'll have to visit the Haleakala National Park. To do this I suggest the bike ride down. Not the early morning ride the later ride. Make sure you get the bike company that does the full 38 miles. I did this ride at 60 so you will have no problem.
Now visit the beaches down island at Makena. Rent some snorkel gear and swim with the Green Sea Turtles at Makena Landing. This will be a lot of fun.
Next; visit Lahaina this is an old. now new town with lots of shops and places the enjoy the Hawaiian time.
The Big Island; the best place to stay is the Kona Coast. This is where everyone goes. Beach access is up-island toward Waikoloa. You'll find a lot of rock beachs around Kona. The only sandy beach I know about that is close is Kona is the Kaloka-Honokohau National Park. Near the boat harbor,
at this beach you can see Green Sea Turtles on the beach and you can swim with them. You have to be careful the Sea Turtles are protected by law, so you can't chase them around.
I like the Volcano National Park this is down island from Kona near Hilo. Depending on the island you pick you can fly into Hilo, rent a car drive to the Volcano House and spent one or two nights there. This is spectacular, it's right on the edge of the Kilauea Caldera. You will not be disappointed.
you will spend the better part of two days visiting the Park.
Now drive to Kona for the remainder of your time on the Big Island. You have to stop at the black sand beach, Punaluu and the southern most town in the United States Naalehu.
Now you are or your way to Kona. There is a lot to see so take your time and enjoy.

you're gonna love hawaii! my wife and i had a great time when we went last year...and hope to return soon (hopefully). we booked our flight, hotel, and even a luau with ata vacations, and everything turned out great. hope this helps!

You really owe it to yourself to get the best tour guides in print on Hawaii by Andrew Doughty and Harriet Friedman...they have 3 to date, Oahu Revealed, The Ultimate Kauii Handbook, Hawaii: The Big Island Revealed, each on a different island there...I think they have one on Maui, too. They are great books!
