Here are some pictures that should help you out. Others Honolulu TV Look in Dictionary under native Hawaiians or Polynesians. most wear like a moo moo. Do the research, there is alot to learn. well if you want to go totally "native" and be authentic, you should put on a dress made out of pounded bark, get some tatoos and go topless. but i think you'd probably rather go in a mu'u mu'u which is a long dress w/ floral pattern if the party is formal. Hilo Hattie actually has nice designs, I'm sure they're on the web. Or you can search ebay for mu'u mu'u. www.hilohattie.com is a good source for you. Most local people don't wear stuff from there because the prints are too touristy......but it should fit your needs nicely. Good luck! |
