What are the differences in the seasons in Hawaii? |
Travel Info What are the differences in the seasons in Hawaii? Travel Tips Quote from the National Weather Service page: "For most of Hawaii, there are only two seasons: "summer," between May and October, and "winter," between October and April. Hawaii is in the tropics, where the length of day and temperature are relatively uniform throughout the year." Source(s): http://www.prh.noaa.gov/hnl/pages/climat... Other Travel Tips Hot and not as hot. The first post is pretty much accurate. The thing is since we are just tiny islands in the middle of the Pacific. The weather can change quickly from baking sun to thunderstorms. Playing in the shallows (summer) and super surfin' (winter). Hi, The difference in the seasons is very minor. First the water temperature between Summer and Winter will go down about 4 degrees. The spring can bring a lot of rain, not that it makes a big difference, you'll just see more rain. Winter will mean BIG surf on the North shore of all the islands. You will not see any season change it might get a little cooler at night but still not bad. We don't really have a marked difference in our seasons. Summer is hot (upper 80's to mid 90's). Spring is warm and rainy (mid 80's). Fall is windy and rainy (upper 70's to mid 80's) Winter is rainy and cool (like low 80's). BUT....the weather can change at any point and be completely different from the day before (or sometimes even the hour before). Hope that helps...... Like previous posts, the difference is in winter it rains a lot more and days are shorter (starts getting dark around 5/6 pm) and summer is hotter, sunnier and days are longer (starts getting dark around 7:30/8 pm). |
