Planning my 15th Wedding Anniversary in Hawaii; any suggestions?

Travel Info
Hello and thanks for taking some time to read my question.

My anniversary is still one year away, but I would like to make plans for the trip. What places should we visit there? Is it a good idea to book the same hotel for the whole week. Any tips will help a lot.

Thanks again

Happy 15th and many more!!! The island of Oahu has my vote!! I have been there six times, and each time there is plenty to see and do!!
We have stayed at the Pacific Beach Hotel four out of six times. It is right across the street from Waikiki Beach. We stay in the Oceanarium Tower. At least the 12th floor. Diamond Head view (partial ocean) is the best!! One time, we stayed on the 22nd floor (partial oceanview facing Diamond Head in room 2262. It was fantastic!!!
My son stayed on the same floor, and he had a kingsized bed. His room was really nice. 2266 I think was his room number.
Go on the Navatek 1 Sunset Buffet Dinner Cruise!! It is very romantic with the sunset casting down on Diamond Head! A full buffet and entertainment combined!!
If you and your spouse are "into Elvis", go to BlueHawaiiThe Show!! It is at the Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel. A fantastic Elvis impressionist that you don't want to miss!!
Maybe a helicopter ride, or submarine ride.
The USS Arizona Memorial and Pearl Harbor is a must-see!! Very moving!!!
The Dole Plantation, ride around the island. Get a four day Discovery bus pass. Any ABC store for $20.00 You get to ride TheBus for four consecutive days!! Not bad at all for the money!!
Have fun and enjoy Hawaii!! I did and have and will always enjoy it there!! Source(s): www.visit-oahu.com

Maui and Oahu. Maui is the more laid back of the 2. The Old Lahaina Luau is the most authentic luau. You would need to book this 6-8 weeks in advance. The Maui ocean center is very cool along with a walk down front street in Lahaina. Take a driving trip around the coast of both islands. Don't veer off the main roads. It can be dangerous and easy to get lost. In Oahu, go to Diamond head mountain. Eat at Sam Choy's and Giovanni's shrimp truck on the north shore. The best shave ice on Oahu is Matsumotos in my opinion. A trip to hanauma bay is a must. They are closed Tuesdays. Enjoy!
Congrats on the anniversary and I think you are making a great choice of destinations. I have been to Hawaii 4 times and I cannot wait to go back again soon.

Each of the islands are completely different and depending on what you are looking to do (or not do) should drive your destination(s) that you go to.

If you are going to be there for a week, I would suggest either one or possibly two islands. Most flights from the mainland land in Hawaii in the afternoon and it gets dark around 6:00 p.m. every day regardless of the season.

Oahu is beatiful and there is no shortage of activities, but you will also be dealing with a lot of people. There are some places to get away from others and relax in seclusion, but the entire island is very busy.

Maui has the most to offer. There are numerous water sports and land sports to keep you busy. One of the best activities in my opinion is biking down Haliakala. I have done that twice and it is quite a rush for an active person. There are also a lot of hiking areas and areas to simply relax. One of the nicest things about Maui is there are plenty of day excursions to Lanai and Molokai as well. Maui is central to these other islands.

** My biggest suggestion though is to look into staying in a Condo. I personally have stayed at Kapalua in Maui. It is absolutely gorgeous, but for me, more importantly, it is very private. At Kapalua, we had our own private 1 bedroom condo that was detached from other units.

Enjoy the trip and enjoy the relaxation that Hawaii offers.
Hi,
Last your I pulled off my three year anniversary. My bride lets me do all the planning so here is what I did. We booked our flight to Maui for an early arrival time, before lunch. We rented a car and our first stop was Paia Town for the CD "Road to Hana". We stopped for lunch Ma Ma's Fish house on the road the Hana this is a must, it's a real neat place, with good food, expensive, that's why we did lunch. We took our time and drove to Hana. This is the cool stop. We spent our first two nights at the "Hana Maui". The best romantic place on the islands. This location is very quite, and out of the way. By the time we arrived all the tourist's are long gone. We enjoyed dinner and then a very romantic evening. At this place you don't get a room it's a suite. On the last day in Hana we drove the back-side of the island to up-country to our final hotel the Kamaole Sands, this is not the Ritz but a very nice Condo. There are a number of plush places to stay around the island you could try Wailea. For another great time, take the time to see the "Old Town Lahaina Luau" this requires advance reservations, one to two months and even stay up-island near Lahaina. Hey have a great time we did.
