There is no such term.
tamarind is a fruit used in foods,beverages,etc.
tamarind in my language is (salamagi)i do not know about hawaiian term.
I live in Hawaii for many years, but only when I went to the Philippines did I hear about tamarind. You can get it now, via import, but I don't think it is a locally grown item.

I'm not 100% sure though, because "'opiuma" means also mean opium.
