Travel Tips Downtown has some great sites to see. Old Hawaiian museums, Iolani Palace is real cool, Bishop Museum is cool... And you can just jump on the bus for 2 bucks and get there! You could also do a circle island on the bus, again 2 bucks for one fare will take you complete circle island. And here is a link of other stuff you can do. Enjoy and Aloha Source(s): http://www.bishopmuseum.org/ http://www.iolanipalace.org/ http://www.thebus.org/ http://www.hawaiieventsonline.com/... Other Travel Tips go girl chasing that would be fun for you wouldn't it? Well, go to Waikiki Beach, now, Oahu is the island that Honolulu is on so when you get a website that says "Oahu", do not be offended, because Oahu is the name of the island. There is plenty to do and see. Go to any ABC store and buy a four day Discovery Bus Pass from TheBus. It will take you around the island for four consecutive days (you can get on and off any of the TheBus busses, and another one will pick you up. Shopping is everywhere!!! You name it, you can shop it!! Kahala Mall, various malls, Hilo Hattie, etc.....!! Surf shops, you name it!!! There is anything and everything to see and do. Learn to surf from the beach boys on Waikiki. www.101thingstodoOahu.com www.gohawaii.com www.hawaii.com www.honoluluadvertiser.com www.hawaiimagazine.com www.thisweekinOahu.com going to the Queens summer home; there is a museum that has a great deal to do with Hawaiian history (like a school); wind surfing Waikiki, the night life along the streets, it's a wonderful art festival for everyone. About every mark in the cement along the main streets, around the International Market area, there are performers that come out at night, and do everything from street performances to air brushing to music, to animal shows, it was incredible, better than the streets in Manhattan during the days... There is also a theater there that have live performances (it's a dinner theater). When I was there it had two incredible shows. I just wanted you to know that there are things outside of Honolulu that are not just "nature." PCC (The Polynesian Cultural Center) is one of the biggest attractions in the Islands. It's out on the North Shore. Also, you'll find the best "shave ice" on the island at Matsumoto's. The Dole Pineapple plantation has the best pineapple concoctions ever and the most delicious pineapple. The North Shore beaches are where all the top surfing competitions are usually held and they are usually less crowded than Waikiki. As for Waikiki or Honolulu - Diamond Head is nature - so guess that's out, but, you'll find shops lining all the streets of Waikiki and in all the hotels along the beach. Aloha Center is a big mall, just a few blocks from Waikiki. Queen Kapiolani Museum and Palace are historically cool and you could go to the University of Hawaii - I'm sure they have a lot of interesting stuff. |
