Is Las vegas Cheaper To Live Then Honolulu? |
Travel Info I wanted to know if it is wroth the move for our family of 4 from Honolulu To Las Vegas to try and save more money... Travel Tips You know, a lot of Hawaii people live in Las Vegas, and it is a booming town---huge. Depending on what your line of work is, you probably will be comfortable. I just got back from Vegas, construction is gang busters, and at least ten more years of projects on the books already. Casino work, all types of industries, etc. But you will miss the ocean, they food, the Aloha if you move there. You will swelter in the summer heat that probably starts in May thru early October. You can always move away from Hawaii, but trying to go back is normally cost prohibitive. Others It is considerably less expensive in Vegas, but for a good reason. You are in the middle of the desert where it routinely reaches 110 degrees during the day, with lows in the 90s at night. I kid you not. Just about anywhere is cheaper than Hawaii.... Hawaii is an island with limited land so everything is 10 times more expensive. They showed on HGTV that for $300,000 in Hawaii you could get a condo...not even ocean front at that. Definately cheaper in Vegas. Plus, the school system in Vegas is supported by the casinos so they have much more money for education than we do here in Hawaii. Las Vegas hands down. Being that Honolulu is on a island-everything has to shipped there. It is much more expensive to live there than Vegas. |
