What's popular in Hawaii? |
Travel Info I'm might be moving to Hawaii soon and I was wondering what does everyone wear in Hawaii. Is it the same as here where the big brands are Abercrombie and Hollister? Travel Tips I haven't worn a pair of long pants here for many years, nice shorts and an Aloha shirt is dressed up for dinner! And "slippers" or the rubber thongs are very common. Oahu has many big shopping malls as well as most of the name brand stores. Others Depending on what island you move to... oahu and maui are like LA more city like so you will find that stuff there... in the malls. For the people who live there.... shorts, t-shirt and rubber slippers. In an office, slacks and a nice "aloha shirt". I live on Oahu and Abercrombie and Hollister are worn here. Usually its a little more relaxed though. Some other popular stores are Pac Sun (Pacific Sunwear) and T&C. They have more of a local look. But basically, shorts, shirts and slippers or shoes are all good. If you wanna look like a "local", Aloha shirt at work, most guys (informal wear) shorts or khakis. It is a very laid back state and you would feel out of place dressed to the "T's" there!! you don't have to pay high price to be wearing what everyone else wears. You will see what i mean when you get off the plane and get to your destination! the main foot attire is "rubbah slippah's"!! No one wears suits in Hawaii unless you're a lawyer or politician. Aloha shirt is standard fare for work or if you want to "dress up." Most of the major clothing retailers are on Oahu, i.e. Macy's, A&F, American Eagle, GAP, etc. For the most part its very casual. Stock up on your t-shirts, tank tops and shorts. quicksilver/roxy and local motion are the biggest abercombie and hollister pretty much only the white base people were those, the locals and most people in general were quicksilver/roxy and local motion |
