Who gives the best Surf lessons in Oahu? |
Travel Info i'm staying in the Marriott Ko Olina and i'm looking for a good place to get surf lessons that is not too far. ideal i would want around 5 days of 1-2 hour lessons for 2 people. about how much would this cost? who is a good teacher? Travel Tips Ko Olina doesn't have much surf, so you will have to travel a bit. Depending on what time of the year you come here, winter is the giant surf on the north shore (sometimes 40+ foot), summer has the beginners surf in Waikiki. For a beginner I would recommend Waikiki, then maybe take a trip to the north shore if your here in the summer, there are many good places that will give surf lessons. The North Shore is about 40 minutes from Ko Olina, and Waikiki is about 30 minute drive. The west end, Makaha has surf also but it has more "locals' and a tourist can get into trouble there if he's not careful. Source(s): 20 year resident. I was in Waikiki and i noticed that if you just walk along the beach there are a few stands and they all seem to be fairly good priced. Dont remember the cost as i did not do surfing. i checked out surfingoahu.com and they say they will beat or match any advertised price and lowest rates and Money back gaurantee. I typed in " surf lessons in Oahu "in the search bar and got alot of hits. Like i said I did not do surfing so i could not reccommend any one person but search and that should get you on your way to finding what you need from them. Good luck and have fun !!!!! Go to Waikiki Beach and See Mike at the Surfboard stand near the public washrooms / takeout food stand. He is the best in Waikiki....remember to take him a few cigars and he will treat you well.... Well, if you go around Waikiki Beach, you can learn from the beach boys! Go where all the surf boards are at!! |
