Makiki / Manoa area in Honolulu? |
Travel Info Is this a good safe neighborhood? Is it true there are tree-lined streets in the housing area with more New England style homes? Or is it highly congested? How does it compare to Waialae area (ie Waialae Iki) in East Oahu? Better or worse? Travel Tips Makiki and Manoa are completely separate areas. Manoa Valley is where the tree lined streets are located and there are many beautiful homes there. But obviously, it is far more expensive. The Makiki district, by comparison is okay but more congested. Waialae is a reasonably nice area, it's a little further out on the East side of Honolulu, there's lot's of traffic to deal with if you live out that way. Others I grew up in makiki area, and its not a bad area at all. Waikiki has the most beautiful beach ive ever seen, but can be crowded at times. Thats where the ballers stay haha. Manoa is an older neighbor that does indeed have tree lined streets. The houses are older so will have the more European look and feel to them (due to when they were built) but it is very highly congested. Waialae is a newer area but like Manoa, it is highly congested. If you're talking about Hawaii, there is no area that isn't highly congested. It all depends on what you classify highly congested as. What are you looking for? If you're looking to buy a home in either of these two areas.....good luck.....hope you have 1M+ in your bank account.....that's gonna help you with the down payment. Hope that helps..... |
