How do I start planning a July 08 Honeymoon to Hawaii?

Travel Info
My fiance and I would like to go to Hawaii for our Honeymoon in July of 2008. How do we get started? Where do I find a travel agent or do I need one? Book flights? What are the best places to stay and islands to visit in Hawaii?

We are looking for something that is calm and relaxing. We will be traveling from Texas.

Travel Tips
You can go to a travel agent, or go on Expedia.com
On Expedia, you can book your flight and your hotel for x amount of days you plan on staying at the hotel. Some hotels offer buffet breakfast with your trip.
The Pacific Beach Hotel (Oceanarium Tower), is a really good hotel (we have stayed at the hotel four times out of six). They have a really good buffet breakfast and it is very filling.
Stay in the Oceanarium Tower at least the 12th floor on up with a Diamond Head View room. Partial Oceanview room. Source(s): www.expedia.com

Other Travel Tips
If you don't know how, then contact a travel agent.
My last trip like this one, I talked to the AAA agents. But I'm sure there are thousands of others that would be willing to help you.
I've found good package deals (flight & hotel) through online websites like Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity.

Oahu (Waikiki) has more visitors and is more city-like. There are a lot of restaurants and places to do.

Maui is more relaxed... I believe a lot of honeymooners go to this island.

Big Island is also popular.

Are you planning on visiting different islands or just staying on one? Each island is different from others. There's plenty of outdoor activities to do like luaus, snorkeling, fishing, swimming, scuba diving, etc.
Hi & congratulations!
This is the most important trip of your life and you want it to be perfect.

Use a travel agent who specializes in Hawaii. In fact, use a Hawaii-based agent who will know the islands, the properties and all the activities in Hawaii, not from tour books, but from visiting them and checking them out personally.

This in depth personal and experiencial knowledge will be really useful to help you plan a honeymoon itinerary that will be perfect for the two of you. You want someone who knows and loves the islands to advise and guide you, not a neighborhood agent who has to have some knowledge of the whole world.

Get someone with a single focus - Hawaii - to work with. You will learn a lot. The process will be fun and you will get a great personalized trip that you can afford.
