Have you ever gone on a whale watch? |
Travel Info Have you ever gone on a whale watch? Travel Tips Yes! Every year since 2001 I have gone to Provincetown, Massachusetts with my daughter's 2nd grade teacher on a whale watch and it has been spectacular! The first year we saw approximately 40 humpbacks, they surrounded the boat, were constantly breeching and coming up to feed. It was awesome! One year we saw a blue whale and I was just there a few weeks ago and we saw several humpbacks. We have also seen dolphins and harbor seals. This year the whales kept diving under the boat, that was wild! I would recommend it to anyone, but make sure you have dramamine, the ocean can get rough, but you will never forget the experience! Others no...not many whales in Georgia.. No, but I saw whales when I vacationed in Alaska one summer. Huge creatures! They watched us too. Go on a whale watch if you get a chance. Sounds like fun. Yes, my family and I went to Maui and went whale watching. It was great! Lifelong Hawaii resident Got to see the beluga whales migrating in Alaska. They're amazing! When I was staying in Maui, I tried to get on a whale watch boat. They did not gaurantee that we would see a whale as it was near the end of their migration. Unfortunately no whales, but I did get to see a pod of spinner dolphins, they had a baby with them, could not believe how fast they could swim. They rode the bow wave for a while one of them swam sideways so he could look up at us. Some people saw a sea turtle, but it took off before I could see it. I would have loved seeing a whale, but seeing the dolphins made up for some of the disappointment. |
