I have looked into camping many times when I am out there and just never pulled it off for one reason or another, but at some point I know the kids and I will do it! State Parks Fees and Permits [Application for State Parks Permits - PDF format] GENERAL INFORMATION State parks are open year-round. Fees are charged for various accommodations, guided tours of 'Iolani Palace, riverboat cruises to Fern Grotto in Wailua River State Park, and other special uses. Refer to the following fee schedule or call the telephone numbers provided for more information about fee rates. Please refer the individual park descriptions for details on hours, permit restrictions, and special uses. GENERAL FEE INFORMATION Camping fees for Hawaii State Parks are $5.00 per campsite per night, with the exception of Na Pali Coast State Park, Kaua'i. The fee for camping in Na Pali Coast State Park, which has camping areas at Hanakapi'ai, Hanakoa, Kalalau and Miloli'i, is $10.00 per person per night. Lodging fees for Hawaii State Parks range from $20.00 per night for screened A-Frame shelters to $55.00 per night for a group cabin. See below for more specific fee schedule. FEES, PERMIT REQUIREMENTS, AND OFFICE HOURS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE. Reservations for lodging at Koke'e State Park, Kaua'i and the Kahuku section of Malaekahana State Recreation Area, O'ahu are made through our concessionaires. Other Travel Tips I am not sure how to get a permit but I know kuuloa ranch was a great place I went camping when I was a kid. a very beautiful place too. Try going to the main police station and asking someone there in downtown..I am sure they will help you with that..Other than that good luck!! MALAEKAHANA CAMPGROUNDS http://www.alternative-hawaii.com/fom/... You dont have to have a permit there. It's $5/night/person. I went there many times. Have fun! |
