I'll be visiting Hawaii (Oahu) for a month....? |
Travel Info and was told that I might be able to get a Hawaiian drivers license for the time I'm there without having to give up my MA license...is this ture? Travel Tips You need a permanent address and not be a minor. They will not give you one if you are under 18 without a parent being present. Fire them off an e-mail, I don't think you can get one without giving up your current one. I'm guessing that you just want to have one, otherwise there really isn't a reason to spend the money as you can drive with your out of state drivers license. Others Why dont you call the dmv or check their website. That's not gonna happen. I live in Hawaii & I know for a fact that you cannot have a Hawaii Driver's License without giving up your other state license. You can't have 2. And they do indeed tell you that. You can get the Hawaii Driver's License, but you will need to give up your MA license. Sorry.....but who ever told you the opposite gave you the wrong information. You wont be able to get a Hawaii D.L. without a permanet address. You dont have to obtain a Hawaii D.L. to drive here. My husband and I moved to Hawaii this year from Florida and we have used our florida drivers license for everything.We've even gotten tickets on them. People seem to think that Hawaii is over seas or something its the 50th state of AMERICA so your states D.L. would do just fine. L-U-C-K-Y !!! |
