Travel Info Tell me what do you think about the place? Would you go back? Where did you stay? Why was is good/bad? Travel Tips Hawaii is a great vacation destination. Just about every type of lifestyle can be found on one or more of the islands! For good and bad points, you might want to check out the local Honolulu newspaper websites: www.honoluluadvertiser.com or www.starbulletin.com Oahu is a city. Like any city, it has a great nightlife, places to eat are plentiful, and you can reach more tropical settings just a few miles in any direction. But like any city, you have bad traffic problem and crime is ...well read the newlines on the websites. Big Island is more rural....the erupting Volcano to lavish resorts, tropical rainforests. I prefer the Big Island myself because I found more historical and nature activities. Maui - Everyone loves Maui. It's developing fast but from the old whailing port of Lahaina to the long winding jungle like road to Hana, you have a nice blend of places to visit. Also, plan to see the sunrise on the top of Haleakala Volcano....it's pretty awesome although you have to get up really early to make it to the top. Kauai, Molokai, Lanai are great getaways...especially if you want piece and quiet but all have resorts and natural environements that you will enjoy. Good luck and have fun. Others I love Hawaii and have been there many times. I will return as often as I can. I've stayed in: Maui: Kapalua Villas on Maui...posh area, great spas, fantastic golf, beautiful beaches...loved it Kaanapali Marriott - I enjoyed the time, though I personally prefer areas that are more secluded and Kaanapali is pretty built up. Kauai: Puu Poa Condos in Princeville...posh area, adjacent to the Princeville Resort Hotel, gorgeous lush cliffs, great hiking...absolutlely loved it. Big Island: Volcano Rainforest Retreat in Volcano area of Big Island...neat place literally in the middle of a rainforest...great base for exploring Volcanoes National Park...great hiking Mauna Lani - sunny Kohala Coast of Big Island...posh area...good service...great spa and golf, and relaxing Oahu: Turtle Bay Resort - very nice resort with all rooms being ocean view. Very good restaurants throughout the resort. It was excellent for relaxing and exploring the beautiful North Shore. The last time I was on Oahu was last September. That was my sixth trip there. I love Hawaii, and I would love to move there!! I would constantly go back again and again and again, maybe stay at the Pacific Beach Hotel again (four out of six times), or maybe try another hotel. It was good (it is always good in Hawaii). I have met three people on a Hawaiian Forum that lives on Oahu. so that was fantastic!! The weather is stellar, and when the tradewinds start to flow....ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
