Travel Info Have to travel to Houston (The Woodlands area). Can anyone recommend any real Texas honky-tonks in the area ? Travel Tips try going to big texas or red river. they are really honky tonk. or if you want to travel north towards huntsville tehre is a place called shanaiguns thats country to Others Houston IS "honky tonk". been here 1 yr. Head to Big Texas, located off of I-45 in Spring. http://www.bigtexassaloon.com/ You're not going to find a honky-tonk in the Woodlands, but head down to 1960 and you might find some. I remember some place around 1960 near I-45 that some country girl took me to, but this was seven years ago. You want real honky-tonk in the area, head to the northwest side and go to Tin Hall. Take 290 out to Huffmeister. Place has been there for decades. I know that one's still there. aj_lets_, maybe you should look into moving elsewhere as you have nothing good to ever say about the Houston area. Go to the Tin Hall. It is honky tonk. Or for a bit better taste of Texas, try Blanco's on West Alabama in Houston. |
