Travel Info where can i sign up for cheerleading in houston texas that cost less than 100 dollars Travel Tips If your a child between about 6-12 you can signup for Upward Cheerleading it's about $100 for the signup and it includes the uniform/pompoms/and practices. You will need to research the Upward organization it is ran by your local Christian Church organizations. You don't have to be part or member to the church, this is offered to all in the community as a positive re-enforcement for the youth of the community. Or if your school you may want to check around with the coach and find out about different little leagues that offer cheerleading. Others You seriously need to pay for cheerleading??!?! no where cheer is not cheap. Well you didn't say what part of town you're in; but I doubt you'll find a good cheer gym for under $100. Around $125-$150 seems to be the going rate. Plus if you are worried about the monthly fees, what are you going to do about the uniform ($250-$350), camp fees (~$200), choreogrpahy fees ~$200), and competition fees ($500 - $1000). None of that includes the "extra costs" like hotels and meals for out of town competitions (almost all National competitions are outside Houston). On the North side, there is Texas Lonestar Cheer Comapny (www.texascheer.com) and on the southside there is University Cheer and Dance Airforce (www.universitycheer.com) and out in Katy there is Cheer Nation. Search Yahoofor "cheer +Houston" and see what others may pop up - there are several smaller gyms that may be cheaper but still give you the level of training you are looking for. A couple of years ago, American Cheerleader Magazine listed Texas Lonestar Cheer as the best in the Houston area, but UC and Cheer Nation are both very good as well. School cheer could be a lot cheaper depending on the district. Our school district provides the uniforms for free, but the parents have to pay monthly fees for training at a cheer gym (something like $40) and then competition fees totaling under $200. |
