Why doesn't the city of Galveston direct traffic one block away from the seawall side? |
Travel Info Virginia beach has a boardwalk in relation to where Galveston has a highway, right beside the seawall near the water. It provides more tourist bicycling and walking...etc. Travel Tips If you've ever been on Seawall Blvd, you could see that it just isn't practical. There is a wide sidewalk for pedestrian and cycle traffic. Besides, I've been to Virginia Beach and their "boardwalk" area is not built on top of a seawall. Doing what you propose would be a major engineering undertaking. You see, there's the law of diminishing returns for this. How much would some entity be willing to pay just so a few more tourists might go along there? |
