Travel Info Where are the black suburbs (nice neighborhoods with good schools) in Houston? Travel Tips If you are looking for a minority majority area in Houston or the surrounding area you should go to www.census.gov and look at the city demographics for the areas you are thinking about. Then go to the department of education and check test scores for those cities. It will be difficult in Texas to find a good public school. Others Doubt you will find what you are looking for. There are a few good schools in the HISD district but they are not in the black suburbs There are less than 1% black in Pasadena, Most schools are recognized and exemplary. Not much to say about Houston school. Hmmmmmm don't think I would have received the same response if I would have changed the word black with white. However, there are nice neighborhoods in Aldine school district, in fact my husband's boss just sold a beautiful home off of Lee road in Humble. Going east on 1960 you take a left on lee road. There is also a decent neighborhood called Kenswick. They are building some new homes in that area. I hear the district is in the lower SES though. I hear it's pretty rough, but that's the blackest school I know in a decent neighborhood. Most of the good schools are in the suburbs, and there is a nice cultural mix everywhere you go. HISD is no place for children. You might find good private schools with a majority of black children. Try St. Francis of Assisi school. |
