Travel Info

Travel Tips
It depends what kind of entertainment your looking for.

For clubbing, you might want to go to "Main St." downtown try Visions, Shadow Bar, M Bar, Red Star, 702.

There is are always good plays at the "Ensemble theater" on main street. The first theater in Texas to preform plays by black play writes.

Or try some gentleman's club, "Onyx" on the Richmond or good ol' faithful "Harlem Knight" (BYOB) on the north side.

Or If you want art and literature you can go to the Shrine of the Black Madonna on MLK. They sell books, crafts, and art.

There is allot to do it just depends what you are in to. Theater, Literature, clubbing? Source(s): www.shrinebookstore.com

missouri city
If you wanted diversity Cypress definitely lacks that, what you'll have to do is go down the Richmond strip. Richmond strip is right around the corner from Westheimer, and anybody who is anybody from Houston knows where Westheimer is. The Richmond strip is pretty much the only place you need to go to find hot spots to suit your needs!
Shadow bar in downtown. Maybe go to the Richmond strip. Westheimer is a great area
Wow, another bigoted comment. Two postings, two comments.

WAY TO GO!!!

If you're a typical 22 year old college student with that kind of attitude and that low a tolerance of others, I fear for our future.
College student- seeking black games, well welcome to town.

The majority of HOUSTON area has a lot of diversity ethnic, cultural and sexual and that is a real blessing here. I'm native. I love my city and enjoy a great game. I love the fact, that I am one of many kinds enjoying the same thing! I feel out of sort, if I'm not in a mixed crowd. This is home to me. My best friends are black and hispanic, by heritage as I am white, we share a sisterhood of acceptance and respect, not often found in most places. We traveled the world with charity events and it was clear, the whole world is not Houston.

Enjoy these-
Univ. of Houston games, all sports, I love basketball!

Praire View A&M is a primarily black university. They have some great athletes and really have heart! Talk about Passion plays. whoa momma check out football season there. Its like LSU in central texas. feel the wave.

Our woman's professional basketball team, the COMETS are incredible and they too are primarly black players. That is what they have in common beside being incredible athletes and inspirational woman. Sheryls Swoops is a national treasure, as was Kim Parks.

Latina sports is SOCCER and their is rough and tumble games all over this city, and we we have a professional teams as well.

If you love sports then go to KPRC [channel 2-NBC] and watch the sports page, they do a great late night reviews too.
