Why will Houston be overrun with Lutherans in July? |
Travel Info Why will Houston be overrun with Lutherans in July? Travel Tips The City of Houston in cooperation with Concordia University Seward Nebraska has constucted the largest and only known magnet to lure people of a particular denomination. Toward mid-July there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony, then the switch will be flipped. Then the pseudo-earth-bound-rapture of Lutherans will begin. This drawing out, however, will be of LCMS Lutherans only. From all across the globe LCMS Lutherans will be yielded to the power of the LCMS Houston magnet. God knows what people will think as they see LCMS Lutherans suddenly yanked from their everyday activities and drawn through the air to Houston. LCMS Lutherans of every kind regardless of age, gender, race, nationality, disability, and sexual orientation will be cast to Houston. Then and only then will everyone realize the great power that has been bestowed upon the LCMS, courtesy of CU Seward and the City of Houston. Hopefully there will be no, "Houston, we have a problem, " but, "Houston, we have all the LCMS Lutherans." --This silly story is not to be taken literally as the LCMS does not believe in the rapture and certainly there is no known people magnet (other than my good looks)...DWM does not claim rights to represent the City of Houston, nor the LCMS, nor Concordia University Seward, Nebraska. Void where prohibited. Others The Lutheran Church will be holding a convention at the George R. Brown Convention Center from July 14-19. Many Lutheran Churches in the area will be having activities, services, etc. that extend beyond those dates. http://www.lcms.org/pages/default.asp?na... Overrun? I doubt that. There is a convention here in July. We could do far worse than having a group of nice religious folk in town. Doesn't sound very tolerant of you... Good people---the Lutherans. You should check out the church! God bless you! Those Lutherans know how to party-hearty! I don't have a clue what you are talking about. But the Lutherans are welcomed here anytime. At least we know they will not be increasing the crime rate like our Katrina guest did. |
