Anyone live in Texas?

Travel Info

Travel Tips
hey! i'm not ugly! but i know what you mean. there are a lot of fat people here. well, it's only the fattest state in america....
Others
I just moved to Texas about six months ago and I think that it is a very interesting place, there are lots of things to see and do, BUT! the crime seems to be out of control and the traffic on the freeway is something that I have never encountered before, I am really thinking that maybe northern Minnesota is not as bad as I thought. I am going to give this place a little while longer.
I have lived here my whole life. and well it is BIG as HELL. so there is pretty much anything you want to see. you can see it. Texas is great but I must tell you. We have really bad weather. it is just plan HOT. upper 90's where I am at. but in Dallas it is a little bit better. I like it here, in the winter. the summer I have mixed feelings about. I hope you become a TEXAN. btw. not everyone talks like a hick.
My own Summer
Texas is a HUGE state with many differences in the south, north, east and west Texas. So to say you dislike the whole state would not be a fair assessment unless you have lived in each area. I fortunately have and will share with you my views.

I was born and raised in Dallas. There it is old money and a lot of white collar people. If you don't have money to fit in with the Jones, you won't fit in. Great shopping, sports and dinning.

I briefly lived in Odessa, which is closest to El Paso.. To me it sucked. Desert land.. No man land. My Father soon said, lets get the hell out of here. We went back to Dallas

I went to college in Austin (Hook 'Em Horns). Very Liberal city. Any thing goes.. Party

I lived in Tyler which is what it is. The Bible belt. The best way I could describe it is very Dukes of Hazard like. I am too much of a city girl and did not care for it at all. To purchase alcohol you had to make an hour drive.

I moved to the Houston area at 33 because of a job opportunity. The majority of the people are blue collar. They are hard workers and enjoy life. Houston is the only place that I have ever lived that has summer all year round. It's hot here, but the humidity gives you GREAT SKIN.
I am in the process of moving to Katy. While it is not ugly as hell, it is VERY stepford!
This from someone who gets in physical fights with her mom and has to move out. I imagine it's not looking too cool on your end regardless of where you would live. Life is what you make it. Don't critcize the environment... take a hard look at yourself.
