I really doubt it.

The rumor, as I've heard it, was that Disney was considering a park centrally located in the United States during the late 80s, early 90s. One of the sites they were considering was the Houston area, but not Katy. They were looking more north of town, along I45. The advantage being that Houston was centrally located in the US, had good weather year-round, and the area north of town would provide good access to an international airport (Bush).

However, given their experience with Disneyland, they do not want a park that would be land-locked. Room to expand would be a requirement. I don't know how much area is left like that, considering our rapid growth northward over the past few decades. Disney has also altered it's focus since that time, concentrating on making Disney world a destination to itself, and diversifying (TV, movies, etc.). I don't think another US park would be in their plans -- at least not another BIG park.

Ultimately, we probably wouldn't know about the park until they announced construction was about to start. Also since Disneyland, Disney has tried to control the area around the park before making any announcement, to protect land prices for them, as well as 'un-Disney' development. Virtually all of Disney-World's land was bought through shadow corporations before anything was annouced. Even then, they made the announcement only to get ahead of a leak.

IMHO -- one clear signal that Disney isn't interested in Houston was the fact that they didn't put a bid in to redevelop the Astrodome (and they were invited). If Disney were planning to build a park here, they would also want some related businesses here, and a convention hotel/magic island type development in the Astrodome would have made sense. The fact they didn't consider it worth looking into, says volumes.

No, there isnt. And There is only going to be one disney world, the rest are disneylands. I doubt they will EVER open another disney themepark anywhere other than cali and florida. Maybe a lil waterpark or something, i dont know but still, doubt it.

No ; ( sadly they are not. Do not listen to the people that say that disney owns land in either katy or montgomery county because there is this guy named Mr. Disney who owns land there but does not have anything to do with Walt Disney Co.
I sure hope so. The Katy area would be the perfect place for it. However, that old rumor has been circling for 15-20 years.
Sorry, but no. This has been a rumor since dinosaurs walked the Earth. Why would Disney want to come here? We can't keep a Six Flags park here, so why would Disney be any different?
LoL
Will this rumor ever die. Every place I have ever lived in has a rumor that there is going to be a Disney World built there. When I lived in Ohio there was a rumor that is was going in there. When I lived in Corpus Christi there was a rumor of one for that area too.
