My wife and I are considering moving to the 77070 zip code in Houston. What is the commute really like? |
Travel Info To downtown. The Medical Center. Google Maps says 29 minutes. Is that true? Does traffic not make that quite a bit longer? Travel Tips If you take the 212 Metro bus at the Seton Lake Park and Ride, it will take about thirty minutes to get downtown. Other Travel Tips Huston Sucks for traffic too funny, i lived there forever... are you moving to Champions or Prestonwood... the commute sucks if you are working downtown, BUT!!!! the area is perfect! cant get much better, i say MOVE! BTW- 29 min. is BS, try more like an hour.... but like i said, its worth it. YOU DO NOT, want to live anywhere near DT. ever seen LA traffic in movies? Thats Houston. Although being rebuilt (The freeways that is) traffic is congested due to the high inmigration thanks to the great economy. Tell me what town and I will tell you what it will takr to get to downtown. In general, during traffic hour, it is 45 to an hour hahahahah ya google on Houston it may take 29 minutes to about an hour Houston traffic is like a train wreck you don't want to stare but you cant look away Houston has the most car crashes in Texas trust me IT WILL TAKE LONGER THEN 29 MINUTES I imagine the 29 minutes is an average off-peak journey time. Before you make a decision about moving, try the commute out for yourself - like a test run. Start from 77070 around 8 AM and drive to the Medical Center - another day, you start out from the Medical Center around 5 PM and drive to 77070. Once you have done it once in each direction, imagine how you will feel doing it every day. I can't be more precise because I'm actually in London, England |
