Take car to india from usa, issues, procedure? |
Travel Info I am currently in USA and am planning to relocate to India in the next few months. I love my car, a VW Passat and would like to take it along with me. Does anybody know about any issues, concerns, procedures etc for this? Is this a good option to pursue (eg :- cost inefficient, fuel problems, any other problems etc etc..) Any idea how much import duty I would have to pay? Thanks a lot for your help... Travel Tips The current import duty for a new car to India is 200% of the value, and for a used car is 120% of the value. These values would be set and decided by the motor vehicles employees, not you, so think twice before you leap.. |
