You spelled Wisconsin horribly wrong (Spell check would have fixed that had you used it.) I am finding a town named Apple River as well as a river, both in Polk County, Wisconsin. So much fun!!! i am from St. Paul and it didn't take too long to get there. I used a satellite hand held mileage and direction finder. I calculated the distance between Stewartville, MN 55976 and New Richmond, WI 54017 to be 83.30932 miles. You travel west from New Richmond on the US64 Freeway for an additional 4.96521 miles. The exit sign will read Rivers Edge Drive and there is Apple River. The total miles are 88.27453. I also checked this information on Google World. The difference was a mere + 0.21 miles. Now, I really can't see any reason for you being insulted by anyone about your spelling. The important part of communication is getting your message across in a fashion that pleases you.
