Brown County State Park? |
Travel Info Has anyone tent-camped here and what are the non-electric sites like? I notice most of them say 'Full Shade'...how wooded is it? And most sites have slopes...exactly how bad of a slope? Thanks. I'm planning on staying in the Racoon Ridge Non-Electric area. Travel Tips Camping anywhere in Brown County State Park is wonderful...if you are an outdoor camper. Brown County is hilly no matter where you go except in the center of the park in the family areas. The park is loaded with trees. When they say shady, they mean shady. In the fall, the park is full of motorists driving through slowly soaking up the beauty of the multi-hued trees. About the only thing that will cause your stay to be unpleasant would be the people camping next to you. If they aren't good campers, that is. I wish I could go with. Others It is good camping if you like to rough it. There is always a chance of having bad neighbors next to you-- never had a case of theft, just annoying people. One thing you want to take into consideration is (as you probably know) bug spray and citronella candles--- and you might want to find a spot away from the roads--- the glaring lights and the exhaust. |
