Your help please commenting on three different Indianapolis (area) towns. Home builder has models in all three |
Travel Info The builder I am interested in is KB Homes. They have a particular model that starts at 104K. These model is available in three locations for this price. The price goes up by 25K for the same house in other parts of the town. But in these three towns the price is 104K. Please comment on the desirability, or lack of, for these three towns: Whiteland, IN, which is south of Greenwood (I-65). Brookfield, which is southeast of Indy along I-74. And Greenfield, which is due east of Indy along I-70. Thanks in advance for your much needed input. Travel Tips I'm familiar with the home building industry in Indianapolis. The reason it is less expensive to build that particular floor plan in Whiteland, Brookfield and Greenfield is only because they are farther out (I'm assuming) than the other communities and thus the land costs are lower. All three towns are good. The builder/developer wouldn't be building in the area if there wasn't some draw. Think about it: If the area isn't growing, then the builder would sell no homes and lose money. They research areas of town and only build where there is projected growth. Greenfield and Whiteland have been growing for some time and are safe bets. I'm not familiar with Brookfield, but if it is southeast of Indy, you have the new automotive plant coming within the next few years and the area will be booming with jobs. So that's a safe bet as well. Others I Do Not Know Much About The Area You Are Talking About. Evansville,Indiana Is A Great Place To Live. This Part Of Indiana Is Pretty Safe, And Has A Lot To Offer Such As Employment,Medical,Casio,Shopp... My Self I Would Not Settle In The Gary, Indiana Area. Whiteland is a good community. It has been growing lately, and i dont think it will stop very soon. Greenfield is also very nice, but if you work in indy your morning commute will be aweful. I am not sure about brookfield. experience Basically, the Indy suburbs are all growing rapidly and have been since roughly the mid 90s. I lived in Fishers for five years (north side along the I-65 corridor) and found it to be a great area. Indianapolis is very underrated and often overlooked. Cost of living is low and housing is affordable. Whiteland is nice, and growing at a steady clip. I believe KB is also selling some properties closer to downtown, including townhomes. KB's Martha Stewart designs are also in that market, I believe. Avoid SoSo (south of southside) as well as the Ravenswood area just north of downtown. Speedway is also a bit run down. |
