Is it possible to find any safe Lodging that is affordiable for 2 college students for the Indy 500??? |
Travel Info $35 to $60 per night. Motel, tent campgrounds, bed & breakfast , renting a room at a house, hotel. safe, no more than 45 minutes away from Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I greatly appreciate it. links would be helpful too. Travel Tips you can camp right next to the speedway for about 40 bucks per vehicle, there are several huge fields nearby used for parking and camping. I did it last year. It's loud with all the parties all around all week so I can't guarentee a whole lot of sleep but it is really close and convienent to the track. Others good luck finding anything that is that close and that cheap because it is race day as well as a holiday, I know that even hotels/motels in Danville IL will be booked and Danville is over 1 hour away. Your best bet would probably be to contact KOA campgrounds in Crawfordsville, IN which is located just south of I-74 at exit 34 and see if they have anything available. Crawfordsville is about 50 minutes west of Speedway, but its a straight shot. Or you could try the area just west of the track by the Coke plant...I've seen people camp there also...and all you do is have to walk to the track but I don't know of prices There are some nice hotels in downtown indy, but this close to the race, I'm sure they would be out of your budget. I don't think you will be able to find a hotel for that price. There are alot of hotels on the East side of town that are within 45 minutes of the track. There is a Signature inn on Washington Street, I know of some other hotels, but I forget what the names are... Try Lafayette, Indiana... The home of Purdue University. You will most likely have to go further out than that. Try the cities of New Castle, Lebanon, Lafayette, or Richmond. Probably everything closer in is booked solid. |
