Indiana University Bloomington....? |
Travel Info I am starting at IU this summer. Does anyone know of any places to go, places to eat, attractions, fun things...etc.? Travel Tips not to worry! For Indiana, B-ton is pretty packed for the size with great restaurants, arts, theatre, outdoor activities, and more bars than you'll need! :) it may seem relatively 'big' at first if you aren't from a major city, but you'll quickly learn 90% of the 'action' is concentrated in a walkable distance really. i lived there for 5+ years (went to IU) and i found that i LOVED the summers the most after awhile. it's really nice, you feel like you get "your town" back when the students leave...its just much more laid back, quiet, but there is still a party going on pretty much anywhere, it just usually involves, water, boats & a more intimate group of friends! enjoy! For short road trips, check out Hoosier National forest and Brown County (Nashville, IN). Others as far as 'things to do' there isn't a whole lot during the summer. it's very calm and quiet in summer when most of the students are gone but its enjoyable, Lake Griffey, Lake Monroe, etc.. during the school year there are tons of campus activities and stuff to do. As far as resturaunts there many, every ethnic dish you can think of has its own restauraunt downtown so there are many places to try. Kirkwood Ave. is the off campus hub of town. Bloomington is a fun place. welcome to town. I just graduated and live here There are a lot of great local places to eat and talk to locals, such as Yogi's, Upland Brewery, Lennie's, Nicks, Little Zagreb's, Village Deli, Bear's and many others. I would say that Bloomington has the most local establishments as long as you stay near campus and downtown by the courthouse. There are plenty of things to see and do around Bloomington, your best bet is get together with a group of friends and jsut explore. It really is the best way to discover the kind of things you like to do. But when you turn 21 make sure that Yogi's and Nick's become regular parts of your routine. the Indiana state fair will be here August 9th-August 19th in Indianapolis |
