What is the fare for a five to seven mile cab ride in Indianapolis, Indiana? |
Travel Info Thinking of attending Gen Con in Indy this year, and all the hotels close to the Indianapolis Convention Center (Which is attached to the RCA dome) are booked solid. Short of finding someone willing to take on a room mate, I'm going to have to stay a bit further away. The hotels I'm looking at are between five and seven miles away from the Convention center. How much would taxi fare end up being? (And is there a better alternative?) Travel Tips Most cabs are about $3 for pick up and then about 45 cents for each 1/5 mile. You can also take the IndyGo bus if you stay out the outskirts or Indy, such as just outside the 465 circle/loop. You can view the bus routes at www.indygo.net. Then you can call some hotels that appear to be on the bus route. Routes 8, 16, and 24 all go to the Convention Center. Route 8 is out by the airport, so you might be able to stay there. And some airport hotels may have a transport that will take you downtown. There is a Holiday Inn in Beech Grove that's on the 16 bus route. good luck! Others I'm thinking $3-$5 dollars per mile but you might be able to take the bus (IndyGo) to and from the hotel |
