Scenic Spots in Bandung? |
Travel Info I know Bandung is Shoppers Haven, but isnt there a scenec area , away from the hustle bustle of the town that I can vanish to... How far away is it? Travel Tips There are actually quite plenty of places where you can 'vanish' in the beauty of nature... In the city you can try to stay in Malya Hotel. Very nice surroundings & good services.... A little out of town are Lembang & Ciater. In Lembang try to stay at San Gria hotel or dine in The Peak. While in Ciater you can visit Mt. Tangkubanperhau & hot springs... Both are about 30 mins to 1 hour drive from Bandung depending on traffic condition. You can also opt to go little farther like Kawah Putih and Situ Patenggang or even Garut....Go to Bukit Pakar (Dago Pakar), nice view from the top overlook bandung city... Try at night! There are some nice restaurant... Stardust is right, there are a few places in the surrounding areas to escape to. If you're looking for a hotel just outside the busy roads, Bilique hotel is lovely, it's on the road to Kampung Daun restaurant past Setiabudi. Definately Lembang, go for a day or stay a while. The air is cleaner and it's quieter BUT avoid going on a national holiday- you'll spend the whole time in a traffic jam. I loved going to Ciater at night, it's quiet and no kids running around so you can enjoy the hot springs even more. During the week, you can take a day trip to the caves at the top of Dago. It's not far from the centre of everything but if you go during the week it's really quiet and you can walk to the waterfall (and go in the caves that were used by the Dutch in the war). Kawah Putih has got some nice park areas- the main site can get really busy with tourists though- depending on traffic it takes about 1-2hours to get there. If you've got a car or a bike just ride around the mountains near Lembang, there's a pretty Buddhist temple in that area as well. Head towards the Peak restaurant- you'll find some nice scenic spots there. Go to Dago Tea House up north from Dago street and close to Sheraton Hotel. You'll see Bandung city view and it's nice and beautiful view. Go to Lembang and enjoy natural climate and fresh air. |
