Travel Tips
hi, hi, i still remember you for the two previous questions regarding this and happy to hear you finally will go there ^_^

you DO need malaria (will prevent you not only from malaria but also from blood dengue) and hepatitis a & b shots plus typhus shots. my husband got blood dengue, caused by mosquito, while we were in Lombok (not far from Bali). so yeah, please get some shots!

cant really be much of a helper for jet lag as everyone's body has their own differ way in coping jet lag, and coffee has never been a help for me, for my husband, yes, he wouldn't be able to sleep, but for me? coffee or no coffee, i can snore easily hehe but perhaps a long warm bath would make you sleepy and take melatonin as well. waking up in the morning at local time, this way you would get use to it as well. --> note, since you have baby, do check with doctor or physician first about melatonin.

tips for baby, first of all i am sorry for the baby, its not gonna be happy-ing for her/him to be stuck for more than 10 hours in the airplane! baby foods and lotsa diapers! dont forget to pack those. you can ask for warm water to the flying attendant if you need it. they can also warm the milk if you are not breast feeding your child, that is. i hope you will get an extra seat/ticket for the baby as i really cant imagine you having the baby on your lap for the whole flight. that aint gonna be comfy at all ^_^ if its not too much trouble for you to be mobile while in the airplane, stand up from your seat and walk around a bit, you definitely need it for the blood circulation!

tips for culture: do not point things with your foot!, dont give or hand things with your left hand, Indonesians usually dont "talk back" to an angry elder, that would be assumed inappropriate or not respecting the elder. dont call ppl with "kamu" but try to address them with "anda" as it is nicer and more polite.

well have a safe and fun trip!!! Source(s): experience, experience, and experience ^_^
Other Travel Tips
Get a malaria shot. Stay out of the water. If you plan to leave the city, don't take your baby.
Okay what part of Indo are you going to?
You should prepare with a lot of prayer since there are a lot of pick pocket in Jakarta. In general, everyone is very friendly but there are some bad people among them.It is better for you not to take your baby in this trip. The water is quite dirty. One of my friend's kid got diarrhoea when he was there.
Q: Immunizations: Do I need them and what kind do I need?

A:Malaria is needed if you are going to a village, small towns, or Jungles. it is not needed in big cities like Jakarta or Islands like Bali. flu vaccines is enough

Q:Jet lag: How do I cope? What can I take besides coffee?

A: A good sleep, relaxation, moderate exercise, and sensible diet ( from wikipedia )

Q: I鈥檓 also traveling with a 13 month old. Any tips on traveling with babies?

A: make sure you bring diapers baby food etc but you also can buy it in supermarkets (carrefour, etc) . if you going somewhere avoid areas with too much people and places where people smoke

Q: I want to avoid culture clash and misunderstandings. Tips?

A: Be nice to Indonesians do not look like your looking down on them... do not be arrogant, don't show too much jewelry,

there are many sellers in Indonesia that might force to sell things. if you don't want it do not ignore them ( because they'll still try to sell) just say no. or in Indonesian : enggak with your hand or head waving no direction. same goes to beggars

also try to bargain.. food on the street vendors do not go above Rp20.000,- per plate

if your staying in a hotel or big cities like Jakarta or Developed Islands like Bali, Water is not problem, there clean unless if your staying in a slum lol

enjoy your stay! :)
