I would like to know what religion are Javanese people or is it Jobby or something? |

But they can be categorized in two groups: - "Santri" for those who really devoted to Islam - "Abangan" for those are not too devoted. Some muslim scholars allow a muslim to married Jews and Christians. The majority of Javanese (Javanese people of Yogyakarta, Central & East Java; Sundanese of West Java & Banten, Madurese of Madura island & Betwais of Jakarta) embraces Islam as their religions. Perhaps more than 80% of the population of the island. The rest is divided among Christianity (protestant & catholocism), Budhism, Hinduism, & traditional beliefs). Legally, any Indonesian citizen can marry people of different country. Let alone of the same religion. Traditionally, it's all up to the parents to decide... :-p Indonesia has five religions Moslems, Christian, Catholic, Hindus and Budhist.
