Is it save to ship a book from Indonesia to US? |
Travel Info I'd like to send some stamp book from Indonesia to US where my sister's live. If I use DHL it's 100% guarantee arrive safely in US? Do I have to purchase some insurance to make sure? Or maybe you have other suggestion, thank's guys. Travel Tips Any reputable international courier (DHL, FedEx, TNT, UPS) can guarantee you 100% even without insurance. Moreover, the destination is to US, you can send also by EMS or registered postal service for cheaper price. I've sent many times in and out. Others Yes. It is always safe with DHL. Shipping books from Indonesia to USA may not be a problem at all. Using surface mail (post office) may be OK. Using international courier helps you sleep well at night... :-p FYI, I used to buying books from Amazon.com and ship them via surface mail (not courier). None of my orders got lost or missing. And I believe it's riskier sending books to Indonesia than sending books from Indonesia. It's save, if you want to make sure, then use a package taht only allow you and your sister to open (ex: use a coded-lock). If you use services from trusted services like Fed-ex, DHL, Or UPS it should be save. Yes, it's safe. For the cheapest rate, you'd better use Postal Service from any post office. Print on your package as "Printed Matters". Insurance is an optional. Yep, it's save. My dad used to ship my "bill gates" book with CD in it, from Jakarta, and it arrived safely in Japan. Just make sure you're purchasing the insurance and choose the track-able one. Goodluck. P.S I used the national post office service. But I think DHL is better as it has an international standard and good reputation. my own experience. |
