Where can I find bargain priced winter clothing in Jakarta? |
Travel Info I'm going to Aussie on early July and have no idea what kind of winter clothing I should've prepared for it. This is my first time visit to Melbourne, Aussie. Travel Tips Mangga dua U have to bargain 1/3 from the price offered there. If the seller dont give it to u, try to leave him. Just watch... he'll call u back or not Others I was stuck in the same boat you were except it was Perth. I bought a light weight coat at Pasaraya in the outdoors/camping section. As I recall it was a decent price, but this was 5 years ago... I also waited until I got to Perth and bought a couple of sweaters as the sweaters I had found in Jakarta were really ugly and/or expensive. I'm not sure about Melbourne winters (maybe ask about it in the Australia section?), but Perth was fairly mild and I only wore my coat a couple of times. Just make your first trip in Melbourne to the mall and get some staples. I don't think we have specific clothes for winter in Indonesia, because we don't have winter. But I think you can find sort of sweater and jacket in major department stores. winter cloth....go to mangga dua...or try to go to some branded shops such as MAngo or Esprit....they sometimes sell coat in a very reasonable price! http://www.jakartaexpat.com Mall Ambosador and Mangga Dua (cempaka mas itc also) some shops sells those winter things. I never bought any from Jakarta because i only can use it - the winter things from there - actually only for fall or spring sometime summer because it's not warm enough. but also try Zara/Mango for more nice collection - maybe not really winter jacket but why not to go there and check it out.
