I'm planing a trip to Indonesia. HELP!?

Travel Info
Im planing a trip to Indonesia this aug, its goin to be a back packing trip. My destination will be from Singapore-Jakarta, Jakarta-Tasik Malaya, Tasik Malaya-Yogjakarta, Yogjakarta-Bali. But now im having a prob from Yogjakarta to Bali as i could not find a budget flight. I tried checking by rail. There's a train service from Yogjakarta to Banyuwangi, and there on i need to take a ferry to Bali. Which i'm not sure how to go about & the prices.
So if anyone knows of any alternatives or suggestion please help..
Thank You.

My suggestion for you is NOT to take the train to Banyuwangi then catch the ferry to Bali. It can be tiring--in fact it is! Are you sure that you can't find any budget flight from YOG to DPS? Lion Air (or Wings Air; the regional wing) usually has more flights from Yogya, and so does Garuda. But Garuda is surely expensive. Have you tried Adam Air? Its prices are usually the least expensive, but also the airline which received a 3rd category rating from Indonesian government for its safety standard.

If you are going to Bali and you need a cheap flight yet efficient transportation, try to fly to Surabaya first before proceeding to Bali. You can fly Lion Air (it's cheap), Batavia Air (more expensive), or Merpati (just the same as Batavia) to Surabaya. Then, catch the flight to Denpasar-Bali from there. All of the airlines I mentioned before fly to Bali more than once daily. I personally recommend you to fly Lion Air, since its fleets are not as old as Merpati and Batavia, but the price is lower. It may cost you about Rp 400.000-500.000,-
or even higher--sometimes it depends on your luck!

Best of all, if you don't mind spending extra bucks, fly Garuda directly from Yogya to Bali.

it will be fun to go to Bali from jogjakarta with the train. But will be tiring as well. The alternative - try with bus, Public buses are very cheap in Indonesia but are typically quite slow. it will be 14hour journey on one of these buses will cost a relatively expensive 120,000 Rp, but it does mean you get a good nights sleep.

Have you try to book via Lion Air - the budgetairlines in Indonesia? A flight from Yogyakarta to Denpasar for example, will cost around 480,000 Rp (compared to a luxury overnight bus at 120,000). It is normally possible to book on the day (if not day before) of travel and still get a seat

there is no train to Bali from Yogjakarta. only to Banyuwangi then you need to take the Ferry. Can i suggest you travel by bus from Yogjakarta to Bali this bus will drop you off anywhere on the island of Bali the cost of the bus including the ferry is approx from 120,000 to 300,000 depending on the quality of the bus service. It takes about 14-16 hours from Yogjakarta to Kuta Bali the cost of the bus ticket includes a meal, I travel on these buses often I think it is best to leave Yogjakarta in the pm and arrive in Bali early am. You can sleep well on these buses.
If you prefer to travel by air it is about 1 hour flying time and either Lion Air or Adam air have the cheapest prices. I think better to go by bus.
