Unlike other provinces in Indonesia, DKI Jakarta is a special province that has special power to manage its own city. The minister of state's office controls most of the provinces in Indonesia, but they give more power to govern their area to special provinces such as DKI Jakarta, Nangroe Aceh Darusallam, and DI (Daerah Istimewa=special teritory) Yogyakarta.
