Travel Info Is there any Indonesian translation of Salman Rushdie book "Satanic Verses"? Travel Tips Why would you like to read something that offended a certain religion ? Is it because the controversy ? And No ... you will never find that book in Indonesia, cause I am 100% sure, that any one who tried to publish the book (openly or not) may cause them death. Trust me. I mean look at the terrible "journey" of this book. 3 out 4 individuals who was publishing, translating, selling had been killed. And Salman have to spent the rest of his life in "prison", hiding from the world he once knew . Poor stupid ignorant guy !! Others bet there is! but i don't know if you can still find it now, i think it's forbidden by the government. the indonesian title is "ayat-ayat setan" i'd also like to read it if there is can we still find the english version? (i think it's better to read it in its original form - i know it's not english, but at least it's first-hand translation..) long time ago the book was there. but after make controversial and hurt all moslem in our country that book are banned. i never see satanic verse ( ayat-ayat setan in indonesian language) in book store anymore. no. it's never published in Indonesia or in Indonesian. you can make sure for there is no record of ISBN number. |
