How do people from the U.S. stay in Bali for months or longer when they will only allow a one month permission |

Otherwise a lot of these foreigners have local friends that pretend to "hire" them so that they can have the work visas/KITAS. Others Some of them travel to other places using Bali as a place to go back to, while on trips they have their visa renewed, otherwise they get visas for investing, working or an invitation from a Vacation villa. Underground usually means illegal so I wouldn't go there, if you do want to extend your stay in Bali I suggest you look for serious answers at an Indonesian consulate.
