Romance in Bali? Anniversary recommendations needed? |
Travel Info I am taking my wife to Bali next month for our third wedding ainniversary, and I need some recommendations on romantic spots, hotels, restaurants, etc. Please help a hopeless husband! Travel Tips Bali is known for as a honeymoon destination so plenty of choices for romantic spots. If budget is not a question, then head on to private villas in Ubud (Begawan Giri, Alila) that provide plenty of privacy with breathtaking views of the rice paddies. 24 Hrs concierge and room service make villas a great option. Hotels like the Four Seasons also provide a lot of privacy due to its selective guests. For restaurants try the following: The Living Room and Mosaic. Both are well known and are quieter compared to the other famous restaurants like Kudeta and Warisan. I like Living Room for its candlelit ambience and great tasting food. As for romantic spots, restaurants in Ritz Carlton and Kudeta provide dramatic sunset scenery, so that's always a popular option. Have fun and congrats! Others ritz carlton there are lots of romantic spots in bali... ^_^ its all depends on your budget.. you can see several websites : http://www.amanresorts.com http://www.indo.com http://www.bali.go.id/default_e.asp... http://www.lonelyplanet.com/worldguide/d... http://www.balitourismauthority.net/home... http://www.bali.com/ i would recommend some hotels..such as..maya ubud..amankila, amanwana, amanusa, amandari, ritz carlton... ..and now..there are lots of private villas... you could even go to some local tour operator...=) just make sure that u meet a legal one. im an indonesian!! ^_^ Romantic beach resort in the north of Bali (after the great shopping in Kuta and Ubud?) Kubu Lalang Resort: Small but beautiful semi-traditional bungalows, garden leading to the beach, nice restaurant with European and Asian kitchen. Short distance from lovely hot-water spring, fishing boat trip to see the dolphins swim in the morning, traditional massage at the beach, camp fire and grilled fresh seafood ...... what more do you want? Your host (Normi) can give you good and reliable information on daytrips and transportation. How to get there: Easy and safe way (semi-budget) would be to get a taxi from the airport taxi-window. Fixed price per location. Ask for a taxi to Singaraja or Lovina, because Kubu Lalang lies between those two places (near Anturan village). I've been to Bali six times, go every year. Romance is in the air so that will not be hard to find. A place I went to that I would found very romantic is the Gilli Islands in Indonesia near Lombok which is a 35 minute flight from Bali, and then a boat ride to these wonderful islands. Mostly catering to Scuba nuts, no vehicles operate on this island. You can find some nice hotels and have a beach practically for yourselves. White sand and crystal clear water. Absolutely paradise! In Bali proper, I found the Botanical Gardens enchanting. Also a visit to a Spa like Prana on Jl. Kunti would be a great couples activity. Dinner place - Cafe Warisan, cocktails at Kudeta. Take a nice moonlight stroll on the beach is mesmerizing. Take the hike up to the volcano and see the sunrise there. Bali has so much to offer, and I find the people to be wonderful. Last but not least your hotel maybe able to arrange a Balinese Wedding Ceremony, with traditional attire, you may want to surprise her and renew your love and commitment to her in the land of the Gods. Ultimately...the effort of just trying to make sure you can provide the best anniversary gift is a gift in itself take it from me, who has been married for 18 yrs... Enjoy my beautiful BALI!!!! Congratulation on your anniversary. Well, u should've mentioned whether budget is an issue for you. If its not, Aman, Four Seasons and Ritz are really the best place to stay. Its overview the beach and very great service. been there few times (esp. four seasons jimbaran), loved it! And for romantic spots, you could always bring her to kuta beach, jimbaran for dining out casually, ubud, and all those tourist attraction. And i recommend specially Kudeta Restaurant in Seminyak. a bit pricey compare to other bali restaurant, but totally worth it! great view, great service, great food.. nothing could go wrong! make sure u call and make reservation as it is a very popular spot amongst both local and foreign tourist! enjoy your trip! |
