How do we get from Bali to Gili Meno? |
Travel Info We're not crazy about domestic air travel in Indonesia. Do you know of other ways that are somewhat efficient? Please provide details. Travel Tips well you can go by ferry to lombok island then continue your travel using landtransport to the local harbour near gili island and using boat again to gili meno.. but, due to weather condition in indonesia these days..i really suggest you to use air travel, besides it's not really expensive and more efficient... it will take around 2 hour or maybe more to go to lombok by ferry but it just only take half an hour if you use air travel.. one thing to consider also if you use ferry, be aware of getting and feeling nauseous caused by the big waves.... If you still wanna use the ferry, better you go to Kuta, Bali first which is not far away from Denpasar airport..then find a local travel agent to get some info like the shuttle bus you should take, etc.. Just check the site i gave you..It will help you much Source(s): http://www.gililombok.com/getting_there.... Other Travel Tips Do you mean Gilimanuk...It's located in Bali also. Where are u in Bali anyway? U can always use public land transportation or use traveling agent's rent car to resolve your problem there is always ferry crossing from Bali to Lombok and vice versa In Gili Meno, ask the travel agent/boat agent whether they also have the service for crossing to Bali If I am not mistaken there is. Okay, Ive done this trip a few times and will give you the skinny. South of Candi dasa is a town called Padang Bai, where the ferries all leave to Lombok and the Gilis. BE WARY, most ticket sellers there are scalpers, you can easily pay 3 times the face value for a seat on a boat that you asked not to be on. Ask at the main agency located on the wharf, not the big one, go first half way up the beach to the smaller private jetty where the fast ferries depart/ arrive. Fast boat probably better option. Some of them do direct to the Gili's, others go via Lombok. Once on Lombok, you may need to take a cab (bluebird) to the other side of the island before a quick hop over the channel in local boats. The big ferries have terrible safety records, if you are going on one, check it is a relatively new one. If you have any Lombok travel problems, the local police are very bribeable. If you can, avoid Lombok. Other direct boats leave from Denpasar I believe daily, but Ive never done that route. Would be a great alternative if you are already in the Denpasar/Kuta etc area. EDITED: Ok, so you are in DPS area, take a cab to Benoa port, the direct boats leave from there. Boats leave daily at 9.00am from Benoa arriving Gili Meno at 12.30pm. From Meno u can get around the rest of the gilis. Have a great trip, check the reggae bar if you smoke. http://www.geocities.com/sakewathy/by_se... go to gili meno by ship |
