What to do in 10 days at Bali? |
Travel Info Im going to bali with my 13 year old daughter for 10 days.I need some ideas on where to shop what to do where to eat please help me!! Travel Tips visits the cultural villages where they have traditional dances such as Barong or Kecak dances, in cultural villages they also have art center/art market where you can see many beautiful authentic Balinese paintings, Balinese arts from wood, bones, or even pretty linen, batik-types, sarongs visit the temples! thats the very main thing you shouldnt miss! ^_^ go surfing, banana boat, diving, swimming, snorkelling, and sun bathing in Kuta beach area, there are many places to eat from local food (Balinese, Javanese, or typical Indonesian restaurants) to Western foods along with Japanese or Thai restaurants. many places to go shopping as well in Kuta area. many relaxation places as well for dancing or listening music such as bars or family oriented restaurants where you can also go for karaokeing have fun in Bali ^_^ Others Take her to see the volcano (full day trip) Spend two days in Ubud markets (beautiful woodcarvings and handicrafts) Take her to monkey forest (spend a day exploring teh forest) Go to the western edges of bali (two day trip) Spend the rest of the time in south Bali doing all kinds of beach activity Been there last year with my wife. There is many things to do in Bali, you can visit temples, paddy field, batik factory, silver factory for some handicraft, spend the day relaxing at the beach having a great massage manucure or you hair do with lots of beads, it is great I can guarantee you will not see time pass. Have fun Bali in 10 days: Kuta: Hotel : Hard Rock Hotel: In front of Kuta Beach and in the morning at the beach just in front Hard Rock Hotel you must try local breakfast like rice with fish or rice with Bali meat. It's very tasty and cheap. And you can enjoy the breakfast on the beach. The swimming pool is very big, you daughter must be like it. Walking along Kuta, you can find many restaurants with various choices and good price. You daughter can learn surfing from local people and rent good price surfing board. Don't rent from Hotel, expensive. On Kuta beach, Swimming and get lay down just in front of the Guardian tower, and you will be watch every minute. And you will be safe there. Even if someone swimming across you , they will warn them to be careful for not bumping you. Rent the surfer or buggy board from Guardian tower people. Ubud: go to Bird Park, it's very beautiful, and shop in the Ubud local market, just the opposite of the Pura Temple. Cheaper and so many choices. Don't go to the gallery. Go to Tony Blanco museum. The painting and the scenery is very beautiful. Along the Ubud there are many good restaurants. Try Bebek Bali (Bali Duck) restaurant. Uluwatu: You must go to Uluwatu temple to see Kecak Dance. It's very beautiful with the background beach and sunset. Don't go to other places to see Kecak Dance, just go to Uluwatu and very worth it. Also for me, it is better than Monkey forest. Uluwatu is one place with combination of Kecak Dance, monkey forest, scenery and temple. You can save your time there in just 1 day. Also you can surfing on Uluwatu beach. Lovina: I never go there. But I heard from people that Lovina beach is a good place where you can see dolphin and you can touch dolphin on the sea. Don't go on Friday or Thursday, the say, the Dolphin never show up on that day. It is 3 1/2 hour from Kuta Beach. You can shop in Sukowati market, the price is cheaper than other place and many choices. But for better quality on certain item, shop along Kuta, at the back of Hard Rock Hotel. I am housewife with 3 girls and 1 boy. Love enjoy Bali every year as I mentioned above. I never trust the tourist biro as they are always bring us to tourist trap (must shop here, there, must go here, there, but we can not having the best for us), hehehe... If you want suggestion, just go to hotel front desk, they usually giving you safe and good suggestion. Good Luck. Ps. Better you rent a car for days or for only one day with or without driver. It is quiet cheaper than using cab. For example: I am using cab to go to Uluwatu, only 4 hours, it cost me Rp.400.000,- When the next year I go there, I rent a car with driver only Rp.450.000,- for 8 hours. You can rent a car everywhere. Waterbom Park for sure. Also try White Water Rafting (with Bali Adventure Tours) a snorkeling trip to Lembongan Island (with OBB Tours), a trip to Tanah lot, Treetops, Kintamani, Centro (top floor), Sanur beach ( water sports), Bird Park, Monkey Forrest, Botanical Gardens, Zoo, Butterfly Park, Reptile Park, swim with dolphins (Lovina), turtle conservation activities (Lovina), swiiming in hotel pool, hair braiding and of course shopping and eating. For great food try Papa's, Poppies, Kori, Bubba Gumps, Glory, T.J's and any other restaurant that you pass that may look good AND that has a few people eating there already (empty restaurants are empty for a reason!). There's also walks along Kuta beach, surf lessons (OBB Tours), or once again...shopping. My daughter is 13 and loves Bali and everything that is has to offer!! Eating place in Bali: 1. Warung Nasi "Wardhani" - Denpasar 2. Restaurant "Kudeta" at Oberoi, Kuta 3. Piglet "Ibu Oka" at Ubud 4. Black Canyon at Centro Sight seeing: 1. Sunset at tanah lot 2. Saraswati Market 3. Kintamani hill 4. Dolphin at Louvina 5. Uluwatu - Kecak Dance |
