Others a plane ticket to Brisbane asap You should buy batik clothes, handycrafts (sculpture, silver jewerly) ehm...for food you should try shrimp chip (kerupuk udang), bumbu pecel (ingredients for making Indonesian vegetables salad), actually many delicious Indonesian food but I'm not sure if it's still good to be consumed if you bring it as souvernir in which city? u can buy sarung, keris (something like knive, so u might have a trouble to bring it into airport), or kebaya... ask Indonesian to translate it to u in English, because I have no idea what is it called in English. AS far as food goes there is really nothing that you can't buy at any Asian grocery store. I'd recommend batik handicrafts, woodwork, jewelry or wayang puppets. Pretty much any major department store will have a floor of Indonesian handicrafts, if you will be in Jakarta you should go to Plaza Senayan or Plaza Indonesia.
